Paralives Transportation Guide

Melino is a fully open, seamless world, but walking across the entire town can take a while. To help your Parafolk get around more efficiently, the game offers several ways to travel. This guide covers every available transport option in Melino – from buses and walking to future plans for cars, bikes, and boats.

1. Travel Options at a Glance

Currently, there are three ways to get around:

• Walking – The default method. Free and immersive, with no loading screens.
• Bus – A fast‑travel system that covers the whole town for a small fee.
• Train – A narrative entry point; new residents arrive in Melino by train, but it is not a regular commuter tool.

Future updates will add Cars, Bikes, Boats, and Houseboats.

In Build Mode, there are also 6 transportation‑themed decorative items – they are purely visual and cannot be interacted with by Parafolk.

2. Bus System

The bus is Melino’s main public transport and the only paid fast‑travel method currently available.

How to Ride the Bus

1. Find any Bus Stop in town – there are 17 stops, labelled A through P.
2. Click the bus stop and select “Take Bus”.
3. Choose your destination bus stop from the map.
4. After paying the fare, the screen fades to black, and your Para reappears at the chosen stop.

Fare & Stops

• Each ride costs 3 Paradimes. The fee is small, but if you travel often, keep an eye on your budget.
• Most stops have shelters and signs; smaller ones may only have a marker pole. You can travel from any stop to any other.

Current Limitations

The developers do not currently plan to animate bus movement – instead, the game uses a fade‑to‑black transition. This prioritises function over visuals, cutting down travel time rather than adding cinematic flair. They have mentioned that animated buses might be considered in a later update.

3. Train

Melino has a Train Station that serves as the town’s gateway. New residents arrive in Old Town via this station. For now, the train is purely a narrative and tutorial device – it is not an active travel option for daily commutes. Your Para’s journey begins on that train, and it remains a symbolic link between the outside world and Melino.

4. Walking

Melino is a seamless, open world – no loading screens, and you can roam freely between districts.

• Pros: Free, flexible, and lets you discover collectibles and hidden spots along the way.
• Cons: Long distances take considerable time.

Walking is best for short trips and exploration. For longer journeys, the bus is much quicker.

5. Build Mode Transport Decor

In Build Mode, under the “Transportation” category, you’ll find 6 decorative items. All support colour swatches, but they are purely cosmetic – your Parafolk cannot use them. They’re great for dressing up garages, driveways, or outdoor areas, but for now, that’s all they do.

6. Future Plans

According to the development roadmap, more transport options will arrive as free updates during Early Access (planned for about two years).

Confirmed upcoming features:

Early Access began on May 25, 2026, and is expected to last roughly two years (covering 2026–2028). All roadmap content will be free for existing players.

Until cars and bikes arrive, your Parafolk will rely on walking and the bus.

7. Quick Tips

• Use the bus for long trips – 3 Paradimes per ride is cheap, but it adds up, so plan your journeys.
• Walk for short distances – you’ll spot collectibles and hidden places along the way.
• Decor isn’t usable – those car models in Build Mode are just props, don’t expect them to drive.
• Watch for future updates – cars, bikes, and boats are coming as free additions, so stay tuned.
