1. Lot Types Overview

In Paralives, every lot has a Lot Type that defines its rules: how many Parafolk can visit at once, whether it’s visitable (a full 3D space you can walk into) or a rabbit hole (where Parafolk disappear until their shift ends), which build catalogue is unlocked when editing, and which careers generate shifts there.

Early Access Build 1 includes 18 Lot Types in total. Among them, 14 are visitable 3D venues where the camera can follow your Para inside, and 4 are rabbit holes – Office, Healthcare, Elementary School, and High School.

  1. Watch the opening hours – Shops: 09:00‑21:00. Crème Cafe opens at 06:00 and runs until midnight. Sitting and Fancy Restaurants open at 11:00 and close late. Check the time before you go.
  2. Choose the right restaurant type – Grab a quick bite at a Fast Food place; sit down for a full meal at a Sitting Restaurant; or dress up for fine dining at The Cellar Door.
  3. Shops have limited capacity – Each shop holds only 5 visitors at once. If it’s full, come back later.
  4. Learn new recipes at the General Store – Reading the cookbook there can randomly unlock new dishes. There are 92 recipes in total to discover.
  5. Sell collectibles – All collectible items (mushrooms, gems, artefacts, etc.) now have a sell price based on rarity. You can sell them at shops for extra Paradimes.
  6. You cannot own shops – Remember, in Early Access Build 1 you cannot purchase or run any shop or restaurant – all commercial lots are town‑owned.

7. Future Plans

According to the development roadmap, shops and restaurants will see further improvements in future updates:

  • Table ordering – eventually you’ll be able to order meals directly from your table.
  • More commercial gameplay – additional community lot types are planned.
  • Shop ownership – while not available yet, the ability to own and run a business may come in a later update.

Melino’s shops and restaurant system – though still in early Early Access – already offers a rich variety of shopping, dining, and employment options. With 6 shops2 fast‑food restaurants2 sitting restaurants, and 1 fancy restaurant, there’s something for every taste – from daily groceries at Susan’s General Store, to a quick coffee at Crème Cafe, to an upscale evening at The Cellar Door.
